Engineering Plastics We Machine

We CNC machine engineering plastic components from customer drawings and CAD files. Material selection is typically specified by the customer, and we review the material together with part geometry, tolerances and functional features before manufacturing.

POM / Acetal

Suitable for machined components requiring good dimensional stability, low friction and wear resistance, including bushings, spacers, guides and mechanical components.

PEEK

A high-performance engineering plastic used where temperature resistance, chemical resistance and mechanical performance are important.

PTFE

Used for components requiring low friction and chemical resistance. Machining requirements should consider the material's relative softness and dimensional behavior.

Nylon / PA

Used for functional mechanical components where wear resistance and toughness are required. Material grade and moisture-related dimensional requirements should be considered for precision parts.

What We Review Before Machining Your Plastic Parts

Engineering plastics behave differently during machining. Material properties, part geometry and critical dimensions are reviewed together before production to identify features that may affect dimensional stability, deformation or assembly.

Dimensional Stability

Plastic parts can respond differently to machining, temperature and material condition. Critical dimensions and mating features should be clearly identified on the drawing so they can be reviewed before production.

Thin Walls & Deformation

Thin sections, large flat areas and slender features may be more sensitive to clamping and machining stress. These features are reviewed before manufacturing when they could affect final part geometry.

Holes, Threads & Mating Features

Threaded holes, bores, locating features and mating surfaces are reviewed according to the selected plastic and the functional requirements shown on the drawing.

Material-Specific Behavior

POM, PEEK, PTFE and nylon do not behave the same during machining. Material characteristics are considered together with geometry, tolerances and functional requirements during manufacturing review.

Can you machine plastic parts from my drawings or CAD files?

Yes. We manufacture custom plastic parts from customer-supplied 2D drawings and 3D CAD files such as STEP/STP. Please include the material, quantity, critical tolerances and other project requirements where available.

What engineering plastics can you machine?

We machine engineering plastics including POM/Acetal, PEEK, PTFE and Nylon/PA. If your drawing specifies another plastic material or grade, send the material specification with your RFQ so we can review it for the project.

Can you support both prototypes and repeat production?

Yes. We can support initial parts for engineering validation as well as low-volume and repeat builds after the design is confirmed. For revised parts, please provide the latest drawing or CAD revision before production.

What tolerances can you hold on machined plastic parts?

Achievable tolerances depend on the plastic material, part size, geometry and critical features. Please identify important dimensions and fits on your drawing so they can be reviewed before quotation.

Can you machine threads, holes and assembly features in plastic parts?
