Titanium Grades for Custom Machined Parts
Titanium grade is an important part of the manufacturing review. Please include the specified grade on your drawing or RFQ so the material requirements can be reviewed together with part geometry, tolerances and quantity.
Titanium Grade 2
Commercially pure Grade 2 titanium combines corrosion resistance with useful mechanical properties and is used for a range of engineering and industrial components. We review drawing requirements, geometry and critical dimensions before manufacturing.
Other Titanium Grades
If your project specifies another titanium grade or material standard, send the specification together with your drawing. Material availability and machining requirements can then be reviewed for the individual project.
CNC Machining for Drawing-Specific Titanium Parts
We manufacture custom titanium components using CNC milling and turning according to customer drawings and CAD files. Material grade, part geometry, critical dimensions and functional features are reviewed before machining.
CNC Milling
For titanium parts with pockets, slots, mounting holes, stepped surfaces, profiles and other drawing-defined milled features.
CNC Turning
For sleeves, bushings, spacers, inserts and other rotational titanium parts with defined diameters, bores, grooves and functional features.
Holes, Threads & Assembly Features
Holes, threads, counterbores, locating features and other assembly interfaces can be manufactured according to drawing requirements and reviewed against the selected titanium grade and part geometry.
Critical Dimensions & Fits
Critical dimensions, mating surfaces, fits and tolerance requirements are identified from the drawing and considered during manufacturing and inspection.
Prototype to Repeat Builds
We support titanium machined parts for engineering validation, low-volume project requirements and repeat production after the design and manufacturing requirements are confirmed.
What We Review Before Machining Your Titanium Parts
Titanium requires appropriate consideration of material grade, geometry, machining features and dimensional requirements. We review these factors together before production to identify requirements that may affect manufacturing, inspection or part performance.
Titanium Grade & Material Requirements
The specified titanium grade and applicable material requirements are reviewed before manufacturing. Include the material grade or specification on your drawing whenever possible.
Part Geometry & Machining Features
Deep pockets, thin sections, small features and other geometry can affect the machining approach. Relevant features are reviewed together with the drawing before production.
Critical Dimensions & Mating Features
Dimensions that affect fit, alignment or assembly should be clearly identified so they can receive appropriate attention during manufacturing and inspection.
Threads, Holes & Functional Features
Threads, bores, locating holes and mating surfaces are reviewed according to the part geometry, titanium grade and functional requirements shown on the drawing.
For a More Useful Manufacturing Review
Identify critical dimensions, mating features, threads and project-specific requirements on your 2D drawing whenever possible. This helps us review the part against its actual manufacturing and functional requirements before quotation.
From Your Drawing to a Checked Finished Part
Before production, we review the drawing or CAD file together with titanium grade, quantity, critical dimensions and project-specific requirements. Finished parts are then checked against the agreed manufacturing requirements before shipment.
Drawing & CAD Review
We review supplied 2D drawings and 3D CAD/STEP files to understand part geometry, material requirements, critical features and manufacturing requirements before production.
Material & Requirement Confirmation
Titanium grade, quantity, tolerances, threads, mating features and relevant surface or appearance requirements are confirmed as part of the manufacturing review.
Dimensional Inspection
Critical dimensions and functional features are checked using appropriate inspection tools according to the part and drawing requirements.
Final Part Check
Parts are visually checked for machining condition, burrs and relevant appearance requirements before packing and shipment.
Support from Initial Titanium Parts to Repeat Production
Engineering projects may begin with a small number of titanium parts for fit, function or design validation. Once the design and manufacturing requirements are confirmed, YSBK can continue supporting low-volume and repeat production using the approved drawing, material grade and project requirements.
If the design changes between builds, send the latest drawing or CAD revision so the updated requirements can be reviewed before production.
