Low-Volume CNC Machining for Engineering Parts

Low-volume CNC machined parts manufactured from customer drawings and CAD files for small production batches, repeat orders and engineering projects.

YSBK Parts supports engineering and industrial projects where the part design is already defined and the customer can provide 2D drawings, 3D CAD or STEP files for manufacturing review.
Projects may include a first small production batch, several part numbers within the same assembly, or repeat batches manufactured against the current released drawing and CAD revision.

Low-Volume Production From Your Drawings

Low-volume CNC machining is suitable when the design has progressed beyond initial prototype evaluation and parts are required in controlled production quantities.
We manufacture to customer-supplied documentation rather than developing the product geometry from an initial concept.
A typical project may involve:
  • A defined component moving from prototype evaluation into a small production batch
  • Repeat requirements for an existing machined component
  • Several drawing numbers required for the same machine, assembly or engineering project
  • Updated parts manufactured after the engineering team releases a new drawing or CAD revision
Quantity, material, tolerances, finishing and inspection requirements are reviewed against the documentation supplied for each project.



From Prototype to Low-Volume Production

When prototype evaluation is complete, the customer’s engineering team may release the design for the next manufacturing stage.
YSBK can then review the released drawings, CAD files, quantities and manufacturing requirements for a small production batch.
Released Design → Manufacturing Review → Small Production Batch → Repeat Requirement
If the design changes later, the next batch can be reviewed against the updated documentation before manufacturing.

Repeat Batches and Drawing Revisions

Repeat manufacturing depends on clear control of the documentation used for each batch.

Current Drawing and CAD Revision

Quotations and manufacturing requirements are reviewed against the drawing and CAD revision supplied for the current order.

Updated Revisions

If geometry, material, tolerances, heat treatment, finishing or other requirements change, provide the updated drawing or CAD files for review before the next batch.

Repeat Requirements

Previously manufactured components can be reviewed for another production batch based on the current quantity and released project documentation.
This is particularly useful for engineering projects where demand continues in smaller batches rather than moving immediately into mass production.



Multi-Part Engineering Projects

A low-volume project does not need to consist of one part number.
Several components can be reviewed together when they belong to the same machine, assembly or engineering project. Quantities may differ between part numbers.
For example, an RFQ package may contain machined housings, plates, brackets, shafts or other customer-designed mechanical components required for the same build.
For each part number, identify the current revision and required quantity where possible. This allows the manufacturing review to follow the actual project structure rather than treating every drawing as an unrelated request.



What to Send for Manufacturing Review

For an efficient quotation, provide the manufacturing information already defined by your engineering team:
  • 2D engineering drawing
  • 3D CAD / STEP file
  • Current drawing or CAD revision
  • Quantity for each part number
  • Material
  • Critical dimensions and tolerances
  • Threads and other critical features where applicable
  • Heat treatment or hardness requirements, if required
  • Surface finish or secondary-process requirements
  • Inspection or documentation requirements
  • Target delivery
A 3D model defines the part geometry, while the 2D drawing should identify requirements that are not fully communicated by the model.
If several components belong to one project, they can be submitted together with the quantity and revision identified for each part number.
